The Certificate in International Business

The College of Business offers a post-baccalaureate certificate in international business.

Prerequisites:

  1. Completed application for admission submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies, including Statement of Purpose and current resume.
  2. Documentation of meeting graduate admission requirements, including a bachelor's degree.
  3. Admission to the post-baccalaureate program by the College of Business. 

Course Requirements for the Certificate: 12 units

The following courses, or their approved transfer equivalents, are required of all candidates for this certificate.

At least 9 units must be at the 600-level. A maximum of 3 units of transfer credit may be allowed.

This course provides overview of the operations management process. The operations management field includes the primary functions of business. These central functions of an organization are responsible for the creation and delivery of goods and services. This course will assist the student in developing both quantitative and qualitative skills to utilize current methodologies, systems, and technology to plan, execute, implement, and analyze performance of the organization and its resources. A 400/500/600 level supporting course selected in consultation with the International Business advisor. Course content in this section must be fundamentally different than that of any other courses used for the certificate.

Additional Requirements:

Students are required to take a minimum of 3 units of graduate coursework abroad through the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC). Relevant graduate coursework from other study abroad partner institutions may be substituted with the approval of the program coordinator. Students are required to take a minimum of three units of coursework from CSU, Chico, on campus or through distance learning.
