Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Graduate Certificate
Total Units Required: 18
This certificate program prepares professionals with various backgrounds to teach English to speakers of other languages. Graduate TESOL certificates are recognized around the world as advanced-level professional preparation in the field. There is a global demand for certified instructors and teachers, as 1.6 billion people speak English as a first, second, or third language.
The graduate TESOL certificate is earned as part of students' work in the MA in language teaching. The certificate program is also beneficial for those seeking to expand the professional applications of other degrees and credentials or for individuals in related business enterprises (e.g., language institutes, English training in commercial settings).
Course Requirements for the Certificate
The following courses, or their approved transfer equivalents, are required of all candidates for this certificate.
