PLO 3: Histories & Movements: Describe and compare key histories of colonization, enslavement, migration, and social movements (e.g., feminist, queer/trans, Indigenous, labor, disability justice) in U.S. and transnational contexts.
PLO 4: Communication for Multiple Audiences: Produce accessible, community-relevant, and empowering writing, research, and multimodal work (policy brief, op-ed, podcast, zine, community report) that informs academic, professional, and community audiences.
PLO 5: Community Engagement & Praxis: Collaborate with local, state-wide, and national community partners to co-create knowledge or action, practice accountability, reciprocity, and culturally sustaining approaches; evaluate social impact.
PLO 6: Transformative Justice: Interpret and assess laws, policies, cultural practices, court decisions, and other institutional arrangements that impact marginalized communities. Ability to develop justice-oriented, freedom articulating, and equity centered reforms.
PLO 7: Understanding of social movements: Explain and assess how social movements, resistance, racial and social justice organizing, solidarity, and liberation, have shaped historic experiences of communities of color and how those movements manifest within contemporary culture.
