PLO 2: Foundational Knowledge: Correctly and effectively apply vocabulary, concepts, theories, and analytical frameworks essential to Ethnic Studies, Women and Gender Studies, and Queer Studies in essays, exams, and research papers. Understand, analyze, articulate and apply concepts such as race, oppression, misogyny, queer theory, misogynoir, patriarchy, homophobia, racism, ethnicity, white supremacy, intersectionality, representation, feminism, critical race theory, Diaspora, decolonization, sovereignty, imperialism, settler colonialism, and anti-racism.
PLO 3: Histories & Movements: Describe and compare key histories of colonization, enslavement, migration, and social movements (e.g., feminist, queer/trans, Indigenous, labor, disability justice) in U.S. and transnational contexts.
PLO 4: Communication for Multiple Audiences: Produce accessible, community-relevant, and empowering writing, research, and multimodal work (policy brief, op-ed, podcast, zine, community report) that informs academic, professional, and community audiences.
PLO 7: Understanding of social movements: Explain and assess how social movements, resistance, racial and social justice organizing, solidarity, and liberation, have shaped historic experiences of communities of color and how those movements manifest within contemporary culture.
