The Minor in Child Development provides essential coursework that complements many majors, including liberal studies, psychology, social work, recreation, hospitality, and parks management, public health and health services administration, human resource management, and others.
For a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, you need a bachelor's degree, 12 units of early childhood education (ECE) courses, and 3 units of supervised field experience. If you have an ECE associate degree, please contact the Child Development office for additional information.

The following courses, or their approved transfer equivalents, are required of all candidates for this minor.
This course is approved for the 24 early childhood education (ECE) units required for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Authorization. For other possible course approvals from the minor, please contact the Child Development Department office.
