Geology Minor

Total Units Required: 22

The Minor in Geology allows students from other majors to develop a comprehensive, yet concise, understanding of earth processes. Building on core courses in physical, historical, and field geology, students select two additional courses as electives from the wide array of subdisciplines. Some examples of elective courses include paleontology, mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, hydrogeology, volcanology, geochemistry, and economic geology.

A student takes some measurements from a hydrothermal spring in Lassen Volcanic Park.
